Since 2013, a sample of retail districts across Greater Philadelphia have been regularly inventoried, with updates in 2020 and 2022 capturing the composition of those districts just before, and following, the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to cataloging the mix of uses within each district, the inventory also includes the types of retail, the number of retail establishments with a website and/or social media presence, changes in sales, and quarterly visit trends.
